Fluffy White Ghosts

 Elliott brought home a ghost from preschool... it looked like he made it with white puffy paint, but when I asked the teachers they said it was shaving cream and glue! It looked like too much fun not to try at home.

Wednesday, October 19: 10-noon and 6-8pm for the 1/2 price and bag sale

Clothing, housewares, furniture, books toys and sporting equipment. No strollers. Cash or checks accepted.

There is an area outside with strollers, high chairs, outside play toys etc and inside everything is organized into categories. There is a lot of kids games, toys, books, puzzles...

Oktoberfest at Whole Foods Market

Whole Foods Market brings the tastes and sounds of Germany for an Oktoberfest celebration. They will have pumpkins for the kids to decorate and take home, fun music to listen to and or course delicious food to eat!

This event is free and sounds like a lot of fun for both our kids and the adults. :)

Cantigny Fall Festival

This Saturday Cantigny is having their Fall Festival with tons of fun things to do with your kids! Here are all the activities they have planned for this great event:

•        Pumpkin Decorating
•        Scarecrow Making
•        Hayrides
•        Music by The Salt Creek Boys
•        Candy Dive
•        Scribblemonster Kids Concert
•        Face Painting
•        Stiltwalker and Juggling Show
•        Barnyard Petting Zoo
•        Inflatables

You can also check out Cantigny’s beautiful fall gardens to see more than 50 creatively decorated scarecrows.  A map with their locations (and names!) will be available. Seasonal treats will be available during the festival at outside concession stands and inside at Bertie’s Coffee Shop.

Have any of you been to Cantigny? It's a perfect time to go with all the leaves starting to change and the weather is mild and sunny! If you can't go this weekend, the park is open from 7 am to sunset every day through October.  Free hayrides will be offered at Cantigny Park not only at the Fall Festival but also on October 15, 22 and 29, from noon to 4 pm. Hours are 9 am to sunset in November and December.
